Today is election day in the United States. Who we elect today will lead our action - or inaction - on climate change, reproductive rights, immigration policy, and countless other consequential societal challenges. We cast our votes knowing that this is both an essential responsibility and a privilege.
To those in our community whose voices are suppressed or silenced, know we stand with you. We vote to lift you up. To immigrants of any status, know that we stand with you. We vote for a future where you are respected.
Voters, share why you vote with us on Twitter or Instagram and make sure to tag us - @500WomenSci. Here are some ideas:
I vote because #TransRightsAreHumanRights @500WomenSci
#HereToVote for leaders who will stand up for immigrants, defend Dreamers and #KeepFamiliesTogether @500WomenSci
Today I #VoteForScience as the basis of decision-making @500WomenSci
I vote for bold, scientifically based action to address #climatechange @500WomenSci
I #voteSTEM because I’m an unapologetically feminist scientist @500WomenSci
