About
Much of the gender pay gap, career achievement disparities, and leaky pipeline of women in STEMM can be attributed to a single factor: When women scientists have a child. Infertility and pregnancy loss can also place devastating tolls disproportionately on women, even before having a living child. The 500 Women Scientists SciMom Journeys Team works to understand and break down the barriers that block scientist moms from career advancement and illuminate the reproductive justice challenges that disproportionately hold back Black, Indigenous, and people of color scientists. Join us as we work to educate and elevate the issues, develop concrete solutions, advocate for changes from scientific institutions and policymakers, and celebrate and support mothers and aspiring mothers at all stages of their SciMom journey.
